An Illinois Senate committee has approved tax credits worth $24 million for Archer Daniels Midland and $53 million for the newly merged OfficeMax and Office Depot.
The bills now move to the full Senate for approval.
That will likely happen before the end of the week.
Naperville-based OfficeMax is trying to decide whether to stay-put or move to Florida which is where Office Depot is located.
Decatur-based ADM announced in September it plans to move its global headquarters to a city with better international access.
Chicago appears to be in the running.
