A Terre Haute woman was stuck by a car around 3:30 AM Tuesday morning along U.S. 41 near HoneyCreekMiddle School. Bridget Heminghouse was walking south along U.S. 41 from her stalled car toward her residence when she was struck by a southbound vehicle. Jane Lingenfelser of Terre Haute told police that she was driving south in the left lane of U.S. 41 when she saw a pedestrian walking in the middle of the left lane and cold not avoid hitting Heminghouse.
Heminghouse did test positive for alcohol, but was under the legal limit and Lingenfelser tested negative for alcohol. No criminal charges have been filed.
