A new industrial site is ready for development in southwestern VigoCounty. It’s called the Hoosier Jack Mega Site and contains 4,650 acres, located in what had been Peabody’s Farmersburg Mine.
It is all owned by Terre Haute businessman Greg Gibson who took over the property in December.
The site offers two railroad providers, methane gas from the nearby Sycamore Ridge Landfill, electrical power from Duke Energy and WIN Energy, natural gas from the Ohio Valley Gas, water through the Sullivan-Vigo Rural Water Corp and fiber optics through Frontier Communications. While Gibson waits for someone who wants to develop a business at the site there is farming on over 1,000 acres.
