A truck fire yesterday afternoon on I-70 slowed traffic near the 8 mile marker in the east bound lanes.
Indiana State Police say that the units from the Terre Haute fire department were called out to handle the fire.
The pickup was pulling an opened top produce trailer and was driven by 69 year old Phillip Fernus of Kokomo.
An exact cause of the fire is not known but authorities say that a tossed cigarette may have ignited one of the cardboard boxes containing watermelons.
ISP did site the driver for being 1,300 pounds overweight.
