The Terre Haute City Council is officially looking for another consultant to help them understand they city budget and where the money comes from.
Last night the council voted to post the position for a financial consultant in the Terre Haute newspaper.
The council is taking $20,000 from a budget that is already stretched to pay for the advice.
The qualifications for the job include someone with a background in accounting, and with experience in government finance. There aren’t a lot of people out there with those qualifications but the council is looking for someone to provide more information and advice than they are currently getting from the consultants that the city already employs.
A decision could come as early as June.
