The Vigo County school board officially hired a new security staff to patrol and protect every school in Vigo County.
In all, 60 officers were approved to work for the Corporation.
The total cost for the new security measures is around $600,000 dollars or $26,000 per school annually.
That cost is being split between the City of Terre Haute, Vigo County and the Vigo County School Corporation.
All of this comes after the school shootings in Newtown Connecticut.
