Big cuts to public education in Illinois are being proposed for next year.

Several School districts in our area are already making painful cuts.

Casey – Westfield has already made close to a million dollars in cuts, that include a total of 12 positions and more cuts are on the way.

Proposed reductions in state funding for transportation could amount to 19 percent.

The unanswered question is how to get students to school.

It could fall to parents to provided transportation.
