Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mark Duper was arrested Wednesday for child abuse.
Duper was allegedly fighting with his 17-year-old son on Tuesday night punched him, then body slammed and chocked the teen at Duper’s home.
The argument apparently escalated after Duper learned that his son sent his girlfriend a threatening text message.
Duper was charged with one count of felony child abuse. He was released Thursday after posting a $5,000 bail.
Duper played for the Dolphins from 1982-1992. He caught 511 passes for 8,869 yards and 59 touchdowns and was inducted into the Dolphins Honor Roll in 2003.
