Yankees star shortstop Derek Jeter could miss opening day.
Jeter missed his second straight spring game on Wednesday due to an anti-inflammatory injection in his surgically repaired left ankle.
It’s definitely a blow to the Yankees, who have been plagued with injuries so far this year.
Curtis Granderson is out until May due to a broken right forearm, Mark Teixeira could miss two months with a partially torn tendon sheath in his right wrist and Alex Rodriguez might return in July after his hip surgery.
With that said the Yankees look forward to the return of two starters on opening day.
CC Sabathia will be back from left elbow surgery while Mariano Rivera returns from knee surgery he had last year.
