Money problems continue to affect schools across Illinois.

Palestine school officials say that they are facing around a half a million dollar deficit to start the next school year.

59 percent of their funding comes from state aid.

Starting this month, the superintendent says they will have cuts to programs like social studies, math, and science and that means certified teachers will be laid off.
