For the first time since the 1970’s the famous North-South football game will not be played this fall at Memorial Stadium on the city’s east side.
Vigo County Superintendent Danny Tanoos says that the school corporation just can’t afford it anymore as the lose money on the event.
The Vigo County Schools have to pay rent to ISU who also keeps all money from concessions.
Memorial Stadium is leased from the city to ISU.
Games will now be played at the high schools on a rotating basis but it hasn’t been decided who will host the game first this fall.
What will happen when it comes to basketball?
