A local humane society trying to help solve a bad situation is now facing problems.
Several cats are testing positive for Parvo at the Sullivan County Humane Society.
The shelter cannot adopt out cats for 14 days while they are quarantined to determine if they have the disease.
The shelter believes that they were exposed when they brought in a large number of cats from a hoarding situation.
The disease can be fatal.
Due to the rarity of the disease many people are not properly vaccinating their pets which can lead to outbreaks like this.
To help control the situation, the Humane Society has thrown away many supplies since the disease set in.
If you can help, contact the Sullivan Humane Society.
