Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is asking for a second extension on the deadline to file an appeal to the Supreme Court ruling on concealed carry.
This comes about a week after a federal court granted an extension on a deadline to have a law on the books, now by July 8. Madigan has until June 24 to file an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court.
If the court agrees with the request, that would push the deadline back to July 24. It is still unclear how Governor Pat Quinn will act on a bill passed by the General Assembly in May.
