The possible rezoning of the Fayette Township Volunteer Fire House went before the Vigo County Area Plan Commission this week.
What the Commission decided to do was to not decide until maybe next month.
Floyd Mason purchased the building and wants to turn it into an auction house.
Several firefighters and others showed up to speak in opposition to a request.
There has been a dispute for some time now as to what should be done with any proceeds from the sale of the old Sanford fire house building.
Mason, said after the proceeds will be given to the New Goshen Fire Department within a year after expenses are paid. The Indiana Attorney General has taken an interest in the question and is asking to be informed of any action taken by the Plan Commission.
The Plan Commission discussed a proposed ordinance to regulate oil and gas drilling operations in the county.
The ordinance would impose new regulations on such operations, which have grown in recent years. The Plan Commission’s next scheduled public meeting is July 3.
