Problems with this year’s ISTEP testing is causing problems with one area school system.
South Vermillion School Corporation has canceled its related summer school remediation program for grades 3 through 8 because they haven’t received test scores and don’t know who needs remediation.
Scores aren’t expected back until sometime in July at the earliest.
The district is offering its I-READ 3 summer program and other remediation programs for high school students who have not passed Algebra 1, English 10 or related end-of-course assessments.
The delay is also causing a hold-up in the completion of new state-required teacher evaluations.
