Under the leadership of former Governor Mitch Daniels, Purdue University has announced a freeze on the cost of tuition.
That won’t be happening here in Terre Haute and Indiana State University.
ISU held a public forum Tuesday afternoon to discuss a proposed tuition increase of 1.95% or $158 a year.
The school says that the money would go towards paying for increases in utilities and health insurance, as well as scholarships and building repairs and is necessary so the school can move forward.
ISU defends the increase cost by saying that IU and Ball State are also planning price hikes.
