The Indiana State Police Putnamville District held the second of three Safe School/Active Shooter Training sessions for school personel Tuesday.
The training session was held at NorthVermillionHigh School and attended by 35 personnel from Parke and Vermillion county school corporations, along with representatives from the Indiana State Police, Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office, Terre Haute Police Department, Cayuga Police Department, Cayuga Fire Department, and VermillionCountyEMS.
Another training will be held on August 8 at the SullivanHigh School in SullivanCounty. The training consisted of a power point presentation by the Indiana State Police, and a demonstration on what to expect during an actual shooting incident in the school.
It also gave school personnel a sense of what could happen in the time it would take for emergency responders to arrive.
