The Vigo County School Board held their meeting last night at Sarah Scott Middle School.
During that meeting a presentation was made by the administration on their ideas to replace the swimming pools at the three area high schools.
Out of four proposals the one the administration seems to favor is the construction of a centralized facility for all three schools to share at a cost of around $9 million dollars.
Around 300 people were at last night’s meeting and out of those that spoke in favor of the new pool many were involved in the project either as coaches, students or parents of students involved.
The administration officials say that the pool would be available for the community to use but that would have to be scheduled around school events.
The Vigo County council came forward to explain their proposal for a community pool that would include in indoor pool and outdoor water park.
School officials said that it was something to talk about but they wanted to make sure that they had priority over everyone else.
