A new report out from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention shows that Indiana’s suicide rate is up by over 50 percent and that is the eighth-highest increase in the nation. The report also says that about one in five Hoosier teens have seriously considered taking their lives.
Illinois' suicide rate also jumped by 20 percent.
Depression is the main reason for suicide and the World Health Organization says that in just seven years depression will be the number one cause of death around the globe.
Health experts say that suicide is the most preventable form of death if you know what to look for.
