A Saturday morning robbery at Bogey’s FamilyFunCenter behind Honey Creek Mall.
The alarm was set off around 4:30 in the morning.
As Vigo County Deputies arrived they saw a silver minivan take off.
A chase that reached speeds over 95 mph came to an end just south of Farmers Dr on St Rd 63 when the driver lost control.
The van stuck a utility pole and rolled several times.
The driver fled on foot.
Around 3p.m. Saturday afternoon two off duty Vigo County Sheriffs deputies stopped by the scene on their personal motorcycles to look at the scene when 27 year old Kyle Layman came walking out of the corn field covered in blood.
Layman approached the deputies and asked one for a ride.
Although off-duty and in plain clothes...the deputies were armed and carrying their credentials.
The deputies took Layman into custody without incident.
Layman was transported to an Indianapolis hospital to be treated for fractures and other injuries suffered in the accident.
Once released, he will be taken to the VigoCounty jail and charged with burglary, fleeing police and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
