Vigo County Sheriffs Deputies have been looking for the suspect who led them on a high speed chase after allegedly robbing the Bogies Family Fun Center.
Off duty sheriffs deputies stopped by the scene of the fleeing vehicles crash around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
That is when 27 year old Kyle Layman came walking out of the corn field covered in blood.
Layman approached the off-duty deputies and asked one for a ride.
Although off-duty and in plain clothes...the deputies were armed and carrying their credentials.
The deputies took Layman into custody without incident.
Layman was transported to an area hospital where x-rays revieled a neck fracture that was suffered in the accident when the van rolled over.
Layman was taken to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment.
Upon his relased from the hospital Layman will be taken to the the Vigo County jail and charged with burglary, fleeing police and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
Police are looking for a person who led police on a chase after a suspected robbery.
Around 4:30 AM Saturday morning police say that they were called to Bogey’s Family Fun Center behind Honey Creek Mall after an alarm was set off.
As Vigo County Deputies arrived they saw a silver minivan take off.
A chase that reached speeds over 95 mph came to an end just south of Farmers Dr on St Rd 63 when the driver lost control.
The van stuck a utility pole and rolled several times.
The driver fled on foot.
A search has not turned up a suspect yet.
SR63 between Farmer Dr and Lee Dr is expected to be closed for most of the day for the replacement of the telephone pole.
