The Greene County Sheriff’s Department reported heavy structural damage to several homes as storms rolled through early Wednesday.

The homes that suffered the most damage were located on Indiana 43 between Solsberry and Hendricksville in eastern Greene County.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis is blaming straight-line winds blowing at about 70 mph and not a tornado for the damage.

The weather service doesn’t plan to survey storm damage in the area.
