It's getting hot in here...so the cast of Glee is taking off all their clothes. Thursday's episode of the Fox show is called "Naked," and a few of the songs featured reflect the title.
The episode involves the prospect of both male and female semi-nudity. On the male side, the guys decide to raise money for a trip to Regionals by shooting a "Men of McKinley" calendar, featuring Sam, Jake, Blaine and the rest posing in stages of semi-undress. No wonder the episode features a mashup of Nelly's song "Hot in Herre" -- with its line "It's getting hot in here/So take off all your clothes" -- with "Centerfold" by the J. Geils Band , which is about seeing a girl you loved in high school appear years later in a girlie magazine.
In addition, Rachel gets a part in a student film but there's a problem: it requires a topless scene. She debates whether or not to do it by singing Natalie Imbrulgia's hit "Torn" as a duet with herself: "new" New York City Rachel and "old" Ohio Rachel. "This is how I feel/I'm cold and I am shamed/Lying naked on the floor," sings Rachel.
Meanwhile, things are heating up between Marley and Jake, who duet on the Christina Perri love ballad "A Thousand Years." Jake also sings Ne-Yo's " Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)" -- probably to Marley, considering her insecurity. Rachel, Quinn and Santana also team up for a version of Sara Bareilles' "Love Song.
Glee airs Thursday night on Fox.
