A correctional officer now on the other side of the bars.

Police say that 20 year old Andreas Kirby, of Crawfordsville, tripped a metal detector alarm several times at the Putnamville prison while he was going to work.

During a police interview, Kirby surrendered three packages that had been concealed in his groin area.

The packages contained pot, cocaine and other drugs and Kirby said he was going to deliver them to 31 year old Vincent Price who is an inmate.

Price is currently serving multiple sentences for various drug convictions.

Kirby is being held in the Putnam County jail on various charges.
