Plans are moving forward for a restaurant to be built on the site of the old Sycamore Chevy dealership.
Building permits have been issued for Cheddar’s Casual Café to construct an almost 9,000 square foot single-story building estimated to cost $350,000.
The new business should employ around 200 workers and be open in early 2014.
Two other Chedders are slated to open in Indiana this year in Bloomington and Greenwood.
Cheddar’s are already in Clarksville, Avon and Evansville. The Romain Automotive Group bought the site in May 2010 from Dennis Meng Realty Inc. for $3,775,750. The remaining 11 acres of the site is owned by ARB Commercial Real Estate, which has the same Evansville address as the Romain Automotive Group. The site is up for sale.
