An abused and neglected dog in Clay County is recovering after being rescued.
The animal was spotted by a postal worker.
The Clay County Humane Society said that it was one of the worst cases that they have seen and that the dog was tied to a tree and looked like he was about to die.
The dog was taken from the home of a Bowling Green woman and appeared to have been without water and food for at least a month.
The investigation into this case is continuing.
