Duke Energy has announced new funding for customers in need.
The company is contributing $700,000 annually over the next five years for low-income energy assistance which has tripled for eligible customers' heating and cooling bills.
This year they've added $100,000 in assistance.
The money comes from the Duke Energy Edwardsport Plant regulatory settlement.
Customers who need help paying their electricty bills can receive up to $300 toward their bill.
