Terre Haute's Special Response Team was in practice mode at Honey Creek Mall.
The worked on several active shooter scenarios.
It’s all just part of one of several training sessions that take place every year.
They try to anticipate any potential problems and different scenarios that they might have should a situation demand that they respond.
Just across the state line officers were doing the same kind of training but instead of a shopping mall they were practicing in a school.
School wasn't in session on Monday at Casey-Westfield High, but officers trained as if it was and as if there were an "active shooter" roaming the halls of the high school.
Officers from Casey Police, Marshall Police and the Clark County Sheriff's Department - along with an Illinois State Police all took part.
