Britney Spears ’ now-ex-fiance, Jason Trawick , isn’t going to abandon her two sons –- seven-year-old Preston and six-year-old Jayden -- even though he’s no longer romantically involved with the pop star.

A People magazine source says, "He was like their 'other dad,' so he's not just going to walk away from their lives.  He'll be involved as much as makes sense."

The magazine also denies a report claiming that the couple split because Britney wanted more kids and he didn’t.  The source says, "There were so many issues in their relationship that Jason really wanted those worked out before they could ever move forward with a wedding or more kids together."

Preston and Jayden are said to be “doing great” in the wake of their mother’s breakup, thanks to the ongoing presence of their dad, Kevin Federline , in their lives.
