Vincennes Park Board and City Council voted on rather or not to build a new pool in the community Monday night.
A joint resolution was passed and now it’s up to the community to decide if a new pool will replace the old one at Rainbow Beach.
The plan for a new facility includes features that were requested by the public. The old pool atRainbow Beach has seen its better days and has been shut down with no plans to re-open.
The City has already received donations to cover the cost and will hold a special election on the proposal and hope the voters support the new plan.
If the proposal passes the city would be allowed to sell $3.8 million in bonds to pay for the new pool.
