A follow up to a story from earlier this month where dozens of cats here in Terre Haute lost their home to a fire.
A total of 87 cats were being taken care of by private citizens through donations.
Since the fire 15 were taken to the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society, and several others were adopted. The remaining cats are being housed in a heated barn in Terre Haute. The Terre Haute Humane Society is helping to organize transportation to take most of the remaining cats to an available shelter. The owners say that there has been a large outpouring of help from the community and they are still taking donations to pay for medical bills and other expenses.
