Two men accused of a beating in rural Vigo County over a week ago appeared in court to be formally charged.

David Rayhel and Jesse Norton are each facing several charges for allegedly chasing down and beating Brandon Pettiford and a woman.

Pettiford was taken to an Indianapolis hospital because of the severity of his injuries, authorities said.

Britnie Parrish accompanied Norton and Rayhel and is facing one misdemeanor battery charge for her part in the incident.
