There is a new drug of choice on the streets of Terre Haute and its heroin.

The Drug Task Force isn't sure what's causing the sudden up tick but it could be a shortage of other drugs.

Police say that they are trying to identify the sources a quickly as possible and cut down on the supply.

The task force has already made several arrests in heroin distribution.
