The murder trial of an Edgar county teen is getting underway.

Jury selection has begun in the trail of Terry Payton.

He was accused of stabbing his mother to death in June 2011.

Testimony is expected to start Thursday.

Several have come forward saying that Payton was abused and that was the motive in this case.
