As the state’s budget issues continue, one Illinois school is being forced to reduce the roll of its principal.
Neoga School District has voted to reduce the elementary school principal’s roll to part-time, causing Carol Smith to spend about 40% of her time as a title-1 teacher.
The move will save the district more than $37,000 next year but still leave them about $657,000 in the red. The still plan to cut 4 positions at the high school.
