One person was taken to the hospital and three were arrested after fleeing the scene of an altercation in northern Vigo County early Sunday morning.
The Vigo County sheriff’s Department was called out on a battery complaint near 96th Ave. and N. Atherton St.
According to the police report a male victim was found lying along the side of the roadway with severe facial injuries.
There was also a female victim with less serious injuries.
Brandon Pettiford’s facial injuries were so severe, he was taken by Lifeline to an Indianapolis hospital.
Police say that Pettiford was invited to a party on Rio Grande Rd., where he go into some kind of altercation.
He then left with Jesse Stout.
20 year old Jesse Norton, 21 year old David Rayhel, and 20 year old Britanie Parrish, chased Pettiford and Stout.
The chase ended in a cornfield in the Atherton area.
Allegely that is where Rayhel and Parrish then beat Stout .
Then Norton and Rayhel beat Pettiford.
It appears that Rayhel was Stout's boyfriend.
Norton, Rayhel and Parris then fled but were arrested a short time later near 13th and Poplar.
Norton, is from Marshall, Ill. while Rayhel, and Parrish, are from Terre Haute.
All three are facing various charges and are in the Vigo County Jail.
