The Indiana Department of Health says that they number of flu related deaths in Indiana is now up to 52 .
That's up five from a week ago.
The spread of the flu has slowed somewhat in recent weeks but health officials say that you still need to keep your guard up.
Most of the state's flu deaths have involved people age 65 and older who have underlying medical conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes and renal disease.
Of the five new deaths, just one was over age 65 and one was under age 18. The other three were between the ages of 25 and 64.
