The fighting Irish took on No. 11 Louisville on Saturday night in what became the longest game in Big East history.
Notre Dame took the Cardinals into 5 Overtimes and won the game 104-101.
The previous record for longest Big East game was set February 2002 when the Irish beat Georgetown 116-111 in 4 Overtimes.
Both Notre Dame and Louisville missed crucial free throws in the final minute of regulation and each team had opportunities in all five overtimes to close. The Cardinals had a chance at a last second shot in the 5th overtime to win but Peyton Siva lost control of the ball.
There were a total of 26 lead changes and 16 ties.
