More apartments on the way for the city’s east side.

The Vigo County Area Plan Commission gave its approval for the expansion of Sycamore Terrace Apartments.

Thompson Thrift managing the project and the new addition will total 72 units, under plans submitted to the commissioners.

The existing apartment units, which are near the east side Wal-Mart, were fully occupied last year.

One nearby resident was against the approval because he says that the new buildings have caused drainage problems on his land.

The Sycamore Terrace project is expected to be back before the commission next month and they say that if the drainage problem isn’t on it’s way to being corrected then approval might be withheld.
