Indianapolis' proposed professional soccer team has already received a $25 deposit for each of the 1,500 season tickets that will be available when play starts in 2014.
Local developer Ersal Ozdemir unveiled his plans Jan. 15 to launch the team in the North American Soccer League. The as yet to be named team is looking for investors to defray start-up and operational costs. As for that name, 3000 fans have already cast votes for their favorite of the four choices.
The proposals are Indianapolis Athletic Club, Indianapolis Majestic, Indianapolis Speed and Indianapolis United.
