Beginning January 1st, it will be illegal to hold your cell phone while driving in the state of Illinois.
The new law will be put in play New Year’s day and many drivers are already searching for a solution.
Numerous drivers have purchased hands free devices such as Visor Speaker phones. These hands free phones make everything even texting capable through Bluetooth technology.
Drivers will face a maximum fine of $75 for the first offense, $100 for the second and $125 for the third.
There are no exceptions to the law.
The only groups clear from the law are law enforcement, first responders and drivers parked on the side of the road.
