The Terre Haute city council has passed some new rules to regulate what could be considered drug or tobacco paraphernalia. The new ordinance requires those who sell such items legally to purchase a $60 permit.
The money will help fund the Drug Enforcement Agency. Businesses will be subject to spot inspections.
If they don’t pass and are found in violation of the law then businesses can have its permit revoked and they can face fines if they continue to sell such items.
The idea behind the new law is to try to keep the items out of the hands of minors.
