Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana (SNSI) today announced the extension of a $10 spay-neuter discount special. Through the Spay-Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), pet owners and caretakers with limited incomes and receiving public assistance can get their pets fixed at half SNSI’s normal rate.
According to SNSI Board President Cheri Storms, “Since SNSI launched this discount on July 1st, we have helped over 1,400 pet owners with the cost of spay/neuter surgeries. The response has been tremendous, yet more pet owners are still in need of our assistance. “Through our partnership with nearly 90 vets and clinics, we are able to provide services to pet owners across Indiana,” Storms continued. “
The $10 surgeries are available to qualifying pet owners through December 31, 2013. Families living at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines are eligible for this price reduction. Families are also eligible if they qualify for the Energy Assistance Program, Food Stamps, Major VA Disability, Medicaid, Public School Free Lunch Program, Section 8 Housing, Social Security Disability, WIC, and Supplemental Security Income.
SNSI’s programs are made possible by proceeds from the Pet Friendly license plate. Like-minded donors are encouraged to donate to SNSI to help us assist more animals.
