The Indiana Medical Licensing Board is thinking of strengthening the rules that doctors have to follow when prescribing painkillers.
There are concerns over abuse of the drugs. The proposal would require doctors to see patients taking drugs like Vicodin, Percocet and Oxycontin, at least every four months.
Doctors would also be expected to conduct tests to make sure the person is taking the medication.
Patients would also have to agree to not share the drugs and face random pill counts.
