Monday we told you that the Vigo County Sheriff and Commissioners were being sued by the ACLU do to overcrowding at the Vigo County Jail.
Now because of that suit, Sheriff Gregg Ewing has temporarily transferred 45 inmates to the Knox County Jail.
The Sheriff says that this will give a little time to work with the Judges, Prosecutor and Community Corrections to get the population down.
The Terre Haute Federal Prison assisted by providing a bus and driver for the move of the inmates.
One option for some is to go through a program with community corrections but the inmate has to pay the cost and most don’t have the money.
