Kanye West isn't out of the woods yet in the wake of his altercation with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport last month. Los Angeles County prosecutors recently declined to pursue felony charges against him, but the rapper is now facing a lawsuit from the photographer, who claims assault and battery.
Power lawyer Gloria Allred , representing photographer Daniel Ramos , held a press conference Wednesday to announce the lawsuit. Allred claims Kanye punched Ramos and tried to snatch the paparazzo's camera away from him.
Video of the incident indeed showed Kanye trying to take the photographer's camera.
Ramos was so badly injured, Allred stated, that he had to be taken to the emergency room.
Allred called on Kanye to apologize for his actions. She also criticized celebrities who supported Kanye for confronting the photographer, including Cher and Kirstie Alley .
Ramos says he has suffered physically and emotionally because of the incident, and needs a cane to walk around because of his injuries. He seeks unspecified damages.
Though prosecutors declined to pursue felony charges against Kanye, he could still face misdemeanor charges.
