The Indianapolis Indians lost their third straight against the Syracuse Chiefs on Tuesday.
The Tribes starting pitcher Stolmy Pimentel pitched 7 scoreless innings and Indians offense notched a 2-0 lead going into the later innings but couldn’t hold on in the end.
Syracuse scored the tying run in the 8th. Then the Chiefs third baseman Zach Walters hit a walk-off homer in the 9th.
The Indians lose in the series finale against Syracuse 3-2.
Indianapolis is still in first place in the International League West Division but has lost 5 of their last 6.
The Tribe will be back at Victory Field on Thursday with a chance to end their slump in a four-game series against the Rochester Red Wings.
