The Illinois Commerce Commission has given the go-ahead to a new route for a high-voltage Ameren transmission line.
You might remember that there was quite a bit of opposition to one proposed route through Clarke County.
Now we know that the approved route will start in Illinois in western Adams County, where the line crosses the Mississippi River.
At Pawnee, just south of Springfield, the approved segments of the line stops and then picks up again at the Macon County line east of Decatur, and run through the Piatt County town of Kansas, through the substation there, and then through parts of Edgar, Moultrie, and Clark Counties to the Indiana border near Terre Haute.
The route of the power line will move forward unless the commission approves a request for a re-hearing.
Construction is expected to start no later than April of 2015.
