Meth crimes are not new to the area.
Thefts of items use to make meth are also not new.
Now authorities say that another type crime is on the rise, and that is the theft of ATV’s.
Off-road vehicles are easy to steal and once they are gone they are hard to find.
At least 25 have been stolen so far this year.
Police say that the vehicles are often used out in the county in remote areas and people often just park them out in the yard and other areas that make them tempting and easy targets.
They are great tool for those who make meth as they often carry mobile meth labs on the back of the four-wheelers.
Law enforcement recovers only about 1 in 4 of the stolen vehicles.
If you see anything suspicious contact police and if you are out riding your ATV and get stopped, don’t be mad, get glad because one of these days they may be stopping the person who stole your ATV.
