A Terre Haute man makes a court appearance on rape charges.
Back in early July the alleged victim told police that she had known 34 year old William “Tony” Johnson for several years and allowed him to stay in her home.
On July 11, she told police, Johnson forced his way into her bedroom and raped and beat her.
The woman said that she didn’t immediately come forward because she feared for her and her children’s safety.
On July 14 during a visit by the woman’s adult son, he forced Johnson to leave and the police were contacted.
Johnson’s bail is $75,000 with no 10 percent and he will be back in court August 15 for filing of formal charges.
